Often you will hear someone say what is Truth, many times the answer is relative to the person. For example, in a court the person that is preparing to give their testimony will be told to raise their right hand and swear to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, so help you God.
If this is a case in which two individuals were involved in a wreck, both would swear to tell the truth and would tell their side of the story. Both would believe that they told the “whole truth”, but they both cannot be correct. In the end the judge or jury would have to decide what the truth is and act on it.
The truth that I am speaking about is the “Only Truth” i.e. the Word of God also known as the Bible. Within the pages of the bible the word truth appears 224 times from Genesis to 3rd John. In the book of John, the word truth appears 22 times the first of them being;
John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
Jesus was the Word of God made flesh and he was full of grace and truth.
Jesus said in John 4:23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeks such to worship him.
Jesus wants us to understand the importance of truth.
